Translation and Validation of Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire in Urdu Language for Developmental Coordination Disorder Population

Aim: To translate developmental coordination disorder questionnaire in Urdu language and validate its psychometric properties for cross cultural adaptation. Methods: This validation study was done at the Lahore College of Physical Therapy. The Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ) translated into utilizing Bombardier, Beaton, Guillemin's cross-cultural adaption principles. forward backward translations were completed by two separate translators, one whom is a medical professional professor other an professor. final certified version DCDQ-Urdu confirmed bilingual professionals. validated version's reliability then evaluated on 28 children with disorder. Results: After population testing, Cranach's alpha 0.873. inter item correlation three domains, control during movement, fine motor/handwriting, general coordination, total DCDQ score 0.386, 0.312, 0.3002, respectively, after testing 0.273, 0.303, 0.397. original English versions had significant association (Spearman's rho 0.951 p 0.000).Test retest ranged from 0.504 to 0.721. Conclusion: has good internal consistency fair inter-item correlation, making it suitable use as screening tool parents without impaired motor coordination.
